BottomVUE Stage 3 ROV-I
With our work class ROV-I, (nicknamed Dave), we begin to test 360 panoramic filming and habitat video capture. The current's were pretty swift this day, 20 miles out. Depths ranged from 16-20m. Most interesting was the significant number of red snapper we could see on camera, as "Dave" submerged to our desired depth. Equally, were are preparing to implement new sensor technology that allows us to gain more data about cross current speeds, the ecosystem of habitats, and GIS for both the position of the ROV and captured footage. This allows us to begin to build out a wide range of sub-sea map products.
